Ha! Yeah, I don’t remember much of anything of consequence being spoken on the 2am bridge watches. I mostly remember mixing creamer into horrible, burnt coffee in the hopes of masking the taste.

My wife is awesome!…but every marriage has its challenges, of course. I was just putting that in there because it happened to be a contributing factor in my malaise at the time. Don’t worry…no plans of Hitler comparison posts.

Brian – you were never so thoughtful on the bridge at 2am. Whence this philosophy?

Two thoughts:

One, don’t blog about any marital challenges except how you’re so overwhelmed by your wife’s awesomeness.

Two, don’t compare yourself to either a) Hitler or b) the Jews who killed Christ. (You may be a worm, but you’re better than that.)

I know you didn’t ask me but I’ll weigh in here since I’ve spent many made many AK trips in the winter to visit hubby’s family….I much prefer AK in the winter because to me, that IS Alaska! You have to prepare for it because it is a cold like no other, but it is breathtakingly beautiful to see that gorgeous Alaskan landscape covered in clean white snow, the air so crisp….nothing like it! I only made one trip during the summer and I really didn’t care for it. I can’t stand the sun never going down (made it so hard to sleep!) and I couldn’t stand the bugs. My daughter BEGS us to go up and visit her aunt because she loves it there so much and she’s only been there in the winter time

BTW, I liked your pics. I’ll have to post some of mine for you.

Hi Brian! Yeah Fairbanks is soo beautiful! My best friend used to live there for a few years, so I have been there 4 times…2 summers, 1 winter and 1 fall. <3 the summer time up there. One summer in July, near anchorage, we went on top of a mountain and had a snow fight..lol

Isn’t Alaska great? Ii’ve been up there a couple times now and I could easily spend a much longer time. check out the pics and videos from my motorcycle trip up there if you get bored…it’s such a beautiful, wild, open place…
